Cartoon animation for Tierschutzliga: Christmas charity and difficult times for animals
One of the largest animal shelter networks in Germany, the Tierschutzliga Foundation, asked us to create a cartoon animation promoting the idea of charitable activity. The animation was intended to make viewers aware that Christmas is not only a time of increased charity but also a difficult time for pets, often abandoned and struggling with an unfriendly, frosty climate.
This is an explainer video combining several techniques - traditional stop-motion animated drawing, vector animation and motion design. The stop-motion drawing technique is the most graceful form of animation, although the most time-consuming and troublesome. The time spent on obtaining a full frame in this technique is at least several times longer than if we used other techniques. It is also a more problematic way of animation in the case of corrections or changes at a later time. However, you can combine stop-motion drawing with vector animation, which allows you to save time without giving up the specific atmosphere that traditional drawing creates.
